In the Sports Center of Primorsky District on 25 and 26 August was held the 2018 Saint Petersburg Cup on wheelchair Rugby.
Within two days of the competition, the Moscow team, the Saint Petersburg team, the Roostes from Finland and the MCP team from Germany participated in the battle for the title of the winner of the Saints Petersburg’s Cup.
In the opening ceremony participated the representative of the Regional Office of the Russian Paralympic Committee Sergei Gutnikov, the head of the Primorsky District Nikolay Tsed, the vice president of the Committee for physical culture and sports of Saints Petersburg Svetlana Kuzmitskaya, Executive director of Saints Petersburg Rugby Federation Vadim Pikhovkin.
The victorious first place was conquered by the Moscow team, second came the German MCP and the bronze medalist became the Roosters from Finland.

Wheelchair Rugby is a Paralympic sport and it is a game between two teams of four players each. In 1996, this sport debuted at the Paralympic Games in Atlanta. The goal of each team is to score points by touching or crossing the opponent's goal line with a ball. The ball according to the current rules can be passed, thrown, stroked, twisted, dribbled. The winner is the team that scored more points by the end of the game.
