Russian Judo Federation president Vasily Anisimov and International Judo Fund Arkady Rotenberg forwarded a welcome letter to Paralympic athletes. “Courage, will power, character, determination to live and win help Paralympic athletes to struggle in both direct and indirect meaning”, says the letter. {nl}{nl}This is an occupation and life for all members of the Russian team, especially for judo athletes. Since 1992 Russian judo athletes have been gaining authority in the international arena. Paralympic judo athletes managed to win even against the Japanese in the team event at the World Championship in 2003, to win gold medals at the Paralympic Games in Athens and Beijing. {nl}{nl}We are happy to welcome the Russian team who are coming to the most important competition during the recent 4 years – the London Paralympics. We are sure that each member of the Russian team is consumed with desire to get the highest result and win a medal for their country. Each Paralympic award is a real ordeal, which encourages and gives hope. Thank you for your unfailing will power that encourages all the Russians, and wish you success on tatami in London.”
