RESULTS OF THE FIRST DAY OF OPEN ALL-RUSSIAN COMPETITIONS ON SPORT DISCIPLINES, INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM OF THE WINTER PARALYMPIC GAMES

On March 22, 2018 in Peresvet (Moscow region) the first competitive day of the Open all-Russian competitions on sport disciplines, included in the program of XII Paralympic Winter Games of 2018 in Pyeongchang (Republic of Korea) ended.

Today, cross-country skiing on long distances in all classes, as well as the first round of Para Ice hockey tournament took place.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING. LONG DISTANCE

The winner of the cross country skiing in the “sitting” class of athletes at the distance of 15 km became Ivan Golubkov (Republic of Komi), who showed the result of 43:21,6. The second was Alexander Davidovich (Republic of Bashkortostan), and third – Roman Petushkov (Moscow).

Among the “standing” class of athletes, the gold medal won Alexander Pronkov (Moscow), silver – Vladimir Kononov (Republic of Udmurtia), bronze – Rushan Minnegulov (Republic of Tatarstan).

In the category of visually impaired athletes gold medal was won by Elena Remizova (Tyumen region), athlete-leader Andrey Tokarev.

Member of the RPC Governing Board, the President of the Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairment Lev Seleznev, and a member of the RPC Governing Board, 3-times Paralympic Games champion Olga Semenova attended a solemn ceremony of awarding of Champions and medalists of the first day of competition.

PARA ICE HOCKEY

Three games of the first round took place today.

The team of the Republic of Udmurtia defeated the “Bashkir pirates” team with a score of 10:0.                     Team “Phoenix” from Moscow region won a game against the team of St Petersburg with the score of 10:1.                                                                                                                                                     A team of Moscow in overtime beat team “Hawks” from the Orenburg region with the score 3:2.
