In the Sport Palace "Yantar" in Moscow the first competition day of the Para Ice Hockey tournament " Cup of Courage " was ended.

The first competition day of the Para Ice Hockey Tournament "Cup of Courage" was finished at the Sport Palace «Yantar» in Moscow, held by the Moscow Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments, by the Department of Sports and Tourism of Moscow with the support of the Russian Paralympic Committee.

On the first day of competition, two matches took place. Para Ice Hockey club "Phoenix" (Moscow region) with a score of 3-0 defeated the team of Udmurtia (Udmurt Republic).

Dmitry Lisov made a double (assisted by Vadim Selyukin and Ivan Berdnik), Vadim Selyukin also threw the puck assisted by Dmitry Lisov.

In the opening match, the team "Hawks" (Orenburg region) with a score of 3-1 defeated the team from the city of Moscow.

Moscow Team scored an abandoned puck by Yuri Komarov.

Athletes from Orenburg Team Vladislav Zubarev, Alexei N. Eremin and Mikhail Chekmarev scored one goal per one goal to the capital team’s gate.

Tomorrow's pairs of games - "Udmurtia" - "Hawks" and "Moscow" - "Phoenix". The beginning is at 10:00.

For the first time in the Russian Federation, Para Ice Hockey appeared in 2009. In the same year, the first Russian ice hockey championship was held in Podolsk (Moscow region) in the small ice arena "Vityaz".

Today, Para Ice Hockey is developing in 7 regions of the Russian Federation: Moscow, the Moscow Region, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Udmurt Republic, the Orenburg Region and St. Petersburg.

For the clubs in the Russian Federation, the Russian Championship is held, consisting of two stages, as well All-Russian competitions are held in Moscow, Khanty-Mansiysk, Izhevsk and Orenburg.

Currently, the basic teams for the national team are the Feniks Team (Moscow region), the Udmurtia Team (Udmurtskaya Republik), the Yugra (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region).

Due to its perseverance and courage, in 2014, at the XI Paralympic Winter Games (Sochi), Russian ice hockey players won silver medals, at the World Championship 2015 in the US - the third place, and in 2016 became the European Champions in Sweden.
