The president of the Russian Paralympic Committee Vladimir Lukin and the president of the Governing Board, the first vice-president of the Russian Paralympic Committee Pavel Rozhkov arrived to the city of Ulyanovsk (Ulyanovsk region) to participate in the event of the international sports forum “Russia – a sports power”.
The leaders of the Committee will take part in the Opening Ceremony of the exhibition “Modern Sport. Innovations and Perspectives”, in the official reception of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region, and they will also attend the Plenary session “Physical culture and mass sport: a platform of concerted action”.
On the second day of the Conference, Vladimir Lukin and Pavel Rozhkov will take part in the plenary session “Healthy Sport - Healthy Business”, as well as the Presidency will deliver a welcoming speech at the Conference “Anti-doping policy in Russia and the world: key problems and innovative approaches to countering doping” .
The Forum “Russia – a sports power” was established in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 863 of July 27, 2009. In order to expand international sports cooperation, a new Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 374 of March 26, 2010 gave to the Forum an international status. ”
For the first time the Forum was held from 22 to 25 October 2009 in Kazan. The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan was chosen as the venue of the Forum as a city that was granted the right to host the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013.
