At the beginning of the day, Pavel Rozhkov, together with the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg -Nikolay Rastvortsev and the President of the Sports Federation of Disabled Sports of St. Petersburg, the Chairman of the Regional Branch of the PCR in St. Petersburg, Sergey Gutnikov, was awarded the Special Olympic Committee Prize , Sport Federation of Disabled Sports of St. Petersburg "For contribution to the development of adaptive physical culture and sports in St. Petersburg and Russia" athletes and coaches, who displayed the high sporting result in 2018.
The head of the RPC presented the award to Nadezhda Andreeva, 2-time European champion in canoeing and canoeing, participant of the XII Winter Paralympic Games in 2018 in Pyongchang (South Korea) in alpine skiing for people with musculoskeletal injuries to Sergei Aleksandrov, vice president of the RCC , the President of the All-Russian Federation of Sports of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, a member of the Presidium of the Special Olympic Committee of St. Petersburg, Sergei Evseev and other attendents.
Pavel Rozhkov was awarded a special prize "For Honor, Dignity and High Professionalism in the Development of the Adaptive Sports of St. Petersburg and the Paralympic Movement of Russia".
Then Pavel Rozhkov, Sergey Evseev, Sergei Gutnikov, as well as member of the Executive Committee of the SCR Leonid Zhestyannikov visited master classes in the kinds of sports held within the framework of the "I CHOOSE SPORT" action. Pavel Rozhkov presented awards to volleyball teams sitting, who participated in the show, and also awarded honorary sports and sporting titles to athletes and coaches from St. Petersburg.
Later on - Pavel Rozhkov together with the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Kirillov, the Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of St. Petersburg Pavel Belov, the 2-time biathlon champion Dmitry Vasiliev, the 6-time Olympic champion in skiing, Hero of Russia Lyubov Yegorova, 3-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Alexander Dityatin took part in the opening ceremony of the 13th Public Action "I Choose Sport".
The organizers of the action are the Government of St. Petersburg and the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports.
Within the framework of the action, everyone can try themselves in table tennis, fencing, track and field athletics, field hockey, sailing, basketball, volleyball, arm-wrestling, small towns, floorball, street basketball. You can learn the techniques of martial arts , try your hand at extreme sports. In total, more than 80 sports will be presented this year.
