THE RUSSIAN WHEELCHAIR RUGBY TEAM WON THE BRONZE MEDAL AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION B IN POLAND

The European Wheelchair Rugby Championship in Division B has ended in Warsaw.

According to the results of the competition, the Russian national team stopped one step away from classification to division A, taking third place.

The teams of Switzerland and Poland were classified in the upper division, winning gold and silver medals, respectively.

Places from 4 to 6 were taken by the teams of the Czech Republic, Israel and Finland.

Championship games were played in a round robin system.

The Russian national team was defeated by the national teams of Switzerland (47:43) and Poland (49:43), and won over Israel (50:38), Finland (45:25) and the Czech Republic (54:45).

According to the results of the championship, Ivan Tsybulsky (St. Petersburg) was recognized as the best player among athletes with 2 classification points, and Ilya Myslyaev (Kemerovo region) - 3.5 points.

The bronze medalists of the competition were: Valery Krivov (Moscow), Ivan Tsybulsky (St. Petersburg), Ilya Myslyaev (Kemerovo Region), Vladimir Tsvetkov (Moscow), Sergey Bushmanov (St. Petersburg), Vladimir Kuznetsov (St. Petersburg), Artem Ishin (Pskov region) and Dmitry Khamov (Moscow).

The senior coach of the team is Sergey Glushakov.

The Russian Paralympic Committee congratulates the Russian national wheelchair rugby team on winning bronze medals at the European Championship, Division V.
