The meeting between RPC Coordination Committee on IPC Taskforce was conducted in Bonn in May 8-9 in order to discuss the progress made by the Russian Paralympic Committee on realization of Road Map on implementation of Reinstatement criteria, as well as to detail the list of Russian para athletes for anti-doping testing and discussing procedures of ensuring financial obligations.
These issues as well as IPC Taskforce Progress Report on implementation of criteria for reinstatement RPC’s membership in the IPC will be considered and discussed at IPC Governing Board meeting in May 19-21 in Barcelona.
The RPC Coordination Committee was represented by: Mr. Anrdey Strokin – Chairman of the RPC CC, RPC Secretary General, 5-times Paralympic champion; Mrs. Guzel Idrisova – Deputy Head of RPC Medical, Anti-doping and Classification Commission, senior specialist of the RPC; Mr. Alexey Karpenko – lawyer, senior partner of Forward Legal Company, represented RPC in the international courts.
The IPC Taskforce was represented by Mr. Andy Parkinson – CEO of British Rowing (independent chairperson of IPC TF), Mr. Shin Ashakawa – CEO of Japan Anti-Doping Agency, Ms. Sarah Fussek - FIS Anti-Doping Co-ordinator, Mr. Akaash Maharaj - Chief Executive of the Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption, Ms. Liz Riley – Bird & Bird LLP, Legal Counsel if the IPC Taskforce, Mr. Peter Van De Vliet – IPC’s Medical and Scientific Director; Mr. Mike Peters – IPC Chief of Staff, Mr. Ulf Herzer – IPC Financial Director; Ms. Vanessa Webb – IPC Anti-doping manager.
Also Mr. Peter Nicholson, WADA independent international expert, who is working in Russia to provide assistance in RUSADA’s compliance to WADA Code, Ms. Viktoria Barinova – RUSADA Head of Testing Department and Ms. Anna Kondakova – Head of RUSADA Scientific Department.
