The 13th Return to Life Award Ceremony was held in Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk, in the framework of the All-Russian Forum on the Development of the Paralympic Movement in Russia, the 13th edition of Award Ceremony of the Paralympic Committee of Russia "Return to Life" was held.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, Alexander Uss, addressed the guests and participants of the Ceremony with a welcome speech.

We are glad for the first time to welcome true stars of the national and world Paralympic movement. Our athletes regularly win medals at the Deaflympic and Paralympic Games, at other major tournaments. The 2018 year was very successful for them, they won 19 international titles. Behind the achievements of each athlete - the great work its coaches. I want to thank the coaches - those who taught the athletes to win, helps and supports. Because of you young athletes gain confidence in their abilities and succeed. I wish all the participants of the All-Russian Forum good mood, health and new victories - in sport and in life. ”

President of the Paralympic Committee of Russia Vladimir Lukin announced the welcome address of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

“I welcome you in Krasnoyarsk, at the Return to Life Award Ceremony of the Russian Paralympic Committee. Today we sincerely, with all our hearts, congratulate our winners - champions and recordbreakers who worthily defended the country's sporting honor at the XII Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang and other major international competitions held this year. These talented, energetic, strong-willed people not only achieved personal success, but with their outstanding achievements - they wrote bright pages in the history of the national and world Paralympic movement, became an example for others. And, of course, among the award winners are reputable coaches, mentors and organizers - those who help athletes to believe in themselves, firmly go forward - to the goals set. Let me stress that the state will continue to support Paralympians and create conditions for their victorious performances. I wish you new achievements, good luck and all the best”

Sergey Alekseev, the Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, delivered the greeting of the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov:

On behalf of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and myself personally, I welcome the participants, organizers and guests of the XIII Return to Life Award Ceremony of the Russian Paralympic Committee! This event annually brings together outstanding athletes, coaches and professionals who have achieved significant results in major international competitions. Among the nominees are champions and medalists of the XII Paralympic Winter Games of 2018 in PyeongChang, sitting volleyball and goalball teams that won this year’s world champion titles and thus secured their participation in the 16th Paralympic Summer Games of 2020 in Tokyo. Dear athletes! Every time you prove that no difficulties can stop your desire to win. Your hard work, athletic training, and self-confidence are role models. I sincerely congratulate all the winners of the XIII Return to Life Award with the recognition of their merits and wish them new high achievements and success in everything!”.
