MOSCOW, June 1. / TASS /. The Russian Paralympic Committee asked the Federal Medical - Biological Agency (FMBA) to amend the recommendations on prevention the spread of coronavirus infection towards people with disabilities. The president of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) Vladimir Lukin said this in an interview to TASS.
The position of the Russian Federal Medical – Biological Agency, which in its recommendations on prevention the spread of coronavirus infection in the organization of training events for the Russian National Teams, is not entirely clear, “requires to exclude people with disabilities from any stages of domestic and training process” – said Lukin. “If accepted, this recommendation would adversely affect the development of the Paralympic Sports, and first of all, the preparation of Paralympic athletes important starts. The Russian Paralympic Committee appealed to the Russian Federal Medical – Biological Agency to make necessary changes to enable disabled athletes to carry out training activities”.
On May 26, the Federal Medical – Biological Agency made recommendations on prevention the spread of coronavirus infection during the training activities of sports teams of the Russian Federation. On May 25, the bases in Novogorsk and “Lake Krugloe” resumed their work, on June 1, the four remaining federal bases located in the Krasnodar Territory, Stavropol Territory and Crimea.
