Nizhny Novgorod, October 10th. /TASS/. The International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) signed the agreement with the Russian Paralympic Committee (the RPC) during the Forum “Russia – sports Nation”, the signatures to the document were made by the first Vice – President of the RPC Pavel Rozhkov and the head of the IWAS Rudi van den Abbeele. It was reported on the spot by the TASS Correspondent.
The Forum started in Nizhny Novgorod on October 10th.
“The signing of this agreement is very important, because Russia is one of the leading countries in the world for the education of such great athletes. The fact that Russia shares its experience with us is a great opportunity that will help to better integrate people into society, – said van den Abbeele. We held the IWAS World Games in Sochi in 2015, it was a great success, in 2021 they will be held there, I am sure that everything will be at the highest level”.
“The IWAS Games will be held in Russia in 2021 from September 27 to October 5 in seven sports, the World Paralympic Fencing Championship will be held for the first time in Russia as part of the World Games. We plan to host more than 1000 people in the Games. Within the framework of the World Games, the reporting and election conference of the General Assembly and the IWAS Executive Committee will be held” – said Rozhkov.
