Moscow, December 10th / TASS / The Russian Anti - Doping Agency gets an official notification of non – compliance with WADA critical requirements, as well as proposed consequences and conditions for rehabilitation. It was reported to TASS by RUSADA Director General Yuri Ganus.
On December 9, the Executive Committee of WADA agreed with the recommendations of the Compliance Committee to strip RUSADA of its compliance with the World Anti – Doping Agency Code for four years. The World Anti – Doping Agency believes that RUSADA should pay a penalty for manipulating the Russian athlete’s doping test data for the period from 2012 to 2015, a copy of which was transferred to WADA in early January. The integrity of database was a critical condition for the RUSADA’s restoration on September 20 last year.
“I received the official notification of non – compliance with critical requirements from WADA based on the facts, set forth in the recommendation of the Compliance Committee – said Ganus. Also the consequences, specified in the recommendation and the conditions for RUSADA’s rehabilitation are set out in this notification”.
“It is said in the letter, that RUSADA has 21 days on its hands to controvert in the written form the WADA’s confirmations of non – compliance and/or the consequences of non – compliance proposed by WADA, and/or the conditions of rehabilitation proposed by WADA” – continued the TASS discourser. Ganus recalled, that if RUSADA does not controvert the decision of WADA’s Executive Committee over the course of three weeks, RUSADA will be deprived of compliance status.
“WADA sent copies of the official notification to the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov, as well as to the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee” – concluded the head of RUSADA.
