RUSSIAN WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL TEAM  TOOK 5TH PLACE AT THE EUROPEAN DIVISION B CHAMPIONSHIP IN GREECE

In Athens (Greece) from 11 to 18 July, the European Championship in wheelchair basketball indivision B was held.

8 teams fought for the top division.

At the group stage of the competition, the Russian national team took 3rd place, losing to the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina (58:50), Latvia (69:51) and beating Greece (71-51).

In the quarterfinals, the Russian basketball players lost to the Austrian national team (65-56), after which they won victories over Serbia (69-56) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (73-64), taking 5th place.

The national teams of Austria and Lithuania entered Division A of the European Championship, which won gold and silver medals, respectively.

The third place went to the Latvian national team.

Places from 4 to 8 were taken by Croatia, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Greece, respectively.
