Russian Summer Games (Spartakiad) for children (14-18 years old) with physical impairment is running from 1 to 3 August in Ramenskoe (Moscow Region) in Borisoglebsky Sport center and Saturn Sport center.
Athletes in 6 sports (swimming, badminton, arm-wrestling, boccia, trail-orienteering and darts will be competing during the Games.
250 participants from 16 regions of Russia (Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Arkhangelsk Region, Moscow Region, Novosibirsk Region, Saratov Region, Tyumen Region, Ulyanovsk Region, Republic of Kalmykia, Republic of Karelia, Republic of Sakha(Yakutia) Republic of Tatarstan, Republic of Udmurtia, Republic of Chuvashia, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District –Yugra and Sevastopol (first time) will compete in Ramenskoe.
During the Games the Russian NPC and Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) and Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairment will organize the Outreach Quiz. The Quiz was developed by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in the frames of global education programme.
In 2017 edition of the Games the first place was taken by Moscow athletes, then – Tyumen, and Moscow Region.
During the Opening Ceremony Chairman of the RPC Governing Board Pavel Rozhkov said:
“It is the third time that the Games traditionally were held in Ramenskoe in Borisoglebsky Sport center and Saturn Sport center. Taking part in the competition you may display your strength in different sports, find new friends and grab positive memories that will stay with you for a long time. Besides, it is a great opportunity for organizers to find new sport talents who will soon compete for Russia at the international stage. I wish you all a fair and true competition! Good luck!”
