RUSSIAN PARA CANOE ATHLETES WON 1 GOLD AND 1 SILVER MEDALS AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN DENMARK

From 16 to 19 September in Copenhagen (Denmark) the world championship in canoe sprint and paracanoe was held.

As a result of the competition, Russian paracanoists won 1 gold, 1 silver medal and took the 5th place in the unofficial medal standings.

Krasnodar sportsman Artur Chuprov in VL1 class has climbed to the top step of the podium. Maria Nikiforova (Volgograd Region - St. Petersburg) became the silver medalist in the VL2 class.

On September 18, on the final day of the competition among athletes with musculoskeletal disorders, the Russians took part in 3 final races.

Alexandra Dupik (Moscow region) - took 5th place in the KL1 class with a score of 57.06 sec. The winner was Marina Mazhula from Ukraine (52.69), followed by the representative of Germany Edina Müller (53.74). Chilean athlete Katherinne Wollermann (54.02) became the bronze medalist.

Among women in the KL2 class, Nadezhda Andreeva (St. Petersburg-Rostov region) finished in 6th place (56.95).

The first and second times were shown by the representatives of Great Britain Charlotte Henshaw (48.73) and Emma Wiggs (50.70).

In the KL1 class, Pavel Gromov (Krasnodar Territory) finished seventh (53.04), and Alexander Ilyichev (Nizhny Novgorod Region) finished ninth (54.24). The winner of the race was the Hungarian Peter Kiss - (45.94).
