RUSSIAN ATHLETES TOOK 8 PLACE IN THE WHEELCHAIR TENNIS WORLD CUP

From September 27 to October 3, Italy hosted the World Wheelchair Tennis Team Championship - the BNP PARIBAS World Cup Final.

12 women's, 16 men's teams, as well as 8 teams of "quads" and juniors fought for medals.

Athletes from Russia Victoria Lvova (Moscow region) and Amina Mangutova (Moscow) took 8th place at the end of the championship.

In the group stage, our athletes won a victory over Turkey, but lost to a team from the Netherlands. Thus, the tennis players were in second place in the group, which gave them a chance to compete for the 5th-8th place.

Then, in the matches against the teams of Colombia and Brazil, Russian athletes lost the victory to their rivals and took 8th place in the tournament, retaining their qualifications for the next year.

Tennis players from the Netherlands became World Cup champions, a team from Japan took second place, and athletes from the United States took third place.
