In the city of Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan), the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments will hold the Russian Wheelchair Fencing Championship.
The competitions are held at the Rima Batalova Sports Training Center of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
46 athletes from 11 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the competition. The program included personal and team disciplines.
The opening ceremony of the championship was attended by the Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ruslan Khabibov and the senior coach of the Russian National Wheelchair Fencing team, Honored Coach of Russia Khasan Ismailov.
“In November, we planned dozens of sports events, but due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, they were postponed. Today in the Center for Sports Training of the Republic of Bashkortostan people have gathered really strong in spirit, examples for imitation. For you, sport is the norm of life and new opportunities. I really hope that guests from other regions will like it here! I root for each of the participants, but most of all for the athletes of Bashkortostan. Forward to victories" - Ruslan Khabibov made a welcoming speech.
“I would like to express my deep gratitude to the leadership of the republic, the team of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Minister for the opportunity to host the Russian Championship here, in this wonderful Center. Thank you for being attentive in everything: helping with transportation, settling everyone in a comfortable hotel. We were very warmly received here, they created all the conditions for holding competitions for us. Thank you!" - Hasan Ismailov said.
