Chairperson of the RPC Governing Board, the RPC First Vice-President, Chef de Mission of the Russian National Team at XVI Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, 2020, Pavel Rozhkov held online conference with the representatives of the Tokyo Organizing Committee "Tokyo 2020".

The meeting discussed issues related to organizing the participation of the Russian national team in the XVI Paralympic Summer Games, taking into account the postponement of the Games for the period from August 24 to September 5, 2021 in connection with the pandemic of the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

Were considered the issues of holding final training events in Japan, accommodation in the Paralympic village, transportation and logistics, medical support, an inspection visit on the eve of the Games, etc.

The XVI Summer Paralympic Games will be held in Tokyo (Japan) from August 24 to September 5, 2021. 4,400 athletes from 160 countries are expected to participate in them, who will play 540 sets of medals in 22 sports, which is 12 sets of medals higher than the 2016 Paralympics program.

The program of the XVI Paralympic Games included 2 new sports - Para Badminton and Para Taekwondo, but compared to Paralympic Games 2016, CP Football 7x7 and Sailing were excluded.
