The Chairman of the Governing Board and first vice president of the RPC Pavel Rozhkov in the RPC offices had a working meeting with Svetlana Gerasimova, the president of the international association of chess for persons with physical impairments and head coach of the Russian national chess and draughts team for persons with physical impairments.
At the meeting participated the Secretary General of RPC and the President of All-Russian Sports Federation for persons with physical impairments, five-times champion of Paralympic games Andrey Strokin and the vice president of RPC, three-times champion of Paralympic games Olga Semenova and others.
The participants of the meeting discussed the advancement of chess among disabled people in Russia and the world, the results of performances of the Russian national teams in chess and draughts for disabled persons in international competitions, as well as the preparation of the national team for the World Olympics, which will be held from September 23 to October 7 in Georgia, etc.
Svetlana V. Gerasimova was elected president of the International Association of Chess for persons with physical impairments (IPCA) at the 25th Congress, which was held as part of the World Cup in July 2018 in the Czech Republic. Previously, Svetlana Gerasimova until then held the post of first vice-president of the IPCA.
