On August 7, 2018 in Krasnoyarsk, the Gala opening ceremony of the Forum of the International Federation of Student Sport (FISU) was held. Honorable guests greeted participants of the event - Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation -Olga Golodets, President of the International Federation of Student Sport - Oleg Matytsin and Krasnoyarsk Governor - Alexander Uss.
Within the framework of the opening ceremony, a parade of the Forum-participants took place. The event was attended by the Ambassadors of the Winter Universiade-2019 - the Olympic prize-winner in figure skating - Ilya Averbukh, the eleven-times champion of Russia in curling - Olga Zharkova and the Krasnoyarsk activist - Natalya Kaptelinina.
Further work of the Forum was continued by the plenary discussion, during which experts presented their ideas in the field of student sports. Two-times champion of the Paralympic Games for Alpine skiing - Alexei Moshkin took part in the work of the site. The alpine skier told how important role sport plays in the lives of people with disabilities. "Sport teaches us not only to reach the highest podium. It teaches us discipline, sociability, strength of mind, will. I think this is one of the best tools for rehabilitation in society,"said Alexei Moshkin.
The participants of the FISU Forum continued the second half of the day, working in groups on their projects. Seminars were united by a common theme - "Equal opportunities in sport". During the work of the parallel sections, the Forum guests discussed the development of leadership qualities in student sport, as well as gender and social equality.
