On the fourth day of the IWAS 2015 World Games the Russian national team won 38 gold medals, 34 silver medals and 28 bronze medals, having reinforced its leadership in teams’ overall results

This Thursday the athletes of the national  team of Russia won 38 gold medals, 34 silver medals and 28 bronze medals at the IWAS World Games 2015 being held in Sochi.

Russian swimmers brought into the national “medal box” 16 medals of highest award; 15 silver medals and 15 bronze ones.

Russian Track and Field athletes contributed to the national set of medals 15 gold ones, 11 silver ones and 8 bronze medals; Taekwondists won 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals; the Archery athletes won 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals, and the Table Tennis players won 1 silver medal.


Prior the day, concluding the competitions, the Russian National Team leads the events results by teams’ results in overall. The Russian athletes won 262 medal (102 gold medals, 84 silver medals and 76 bronze medals).
The second to Russian team is the  National team of China (23 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 10 bronze medals), the third position on the rating list is taken by Poland (9 gold medals, 8 silver medals, 12 bronze medals) , the fourth is taken by Finland (6 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 4 bronze medals), the fifth is taken by Brazil (4 gold medals, 9 silver medals).

The Russian athletes, the prize winners  of the IWAS World Games 2015 of the fourth day of the event are as follows: Dmintry Grigoriev (three times); Andrey Granichka (two times); Andrey Kalina (two times); Dmitry Chernyaevm Sergey Sikharev, Denis Tarasov,  Alexander Makarov, Roman Zhdanov, andrey Bitkin, Magomed Holuhoev, Olesya Vladykina (Swimming); Ekaterina Potapova (two times), Artem Kalashjan, Evgeny Torsunov, Andrey Vdovin, Anton Prokhorov, Leonid Varfolomeev, Vladislav Frolov, Nikita Prokhorov, Alexei  Kuznetsov, Alexander Elmin, Maria Bogacheva, Irina Vertinskaya (Athletics); Spartak Gazzaev, Vladislav Krichfalushiy, Viktor Aleksandrov, Sakinat Magomedova, Sevil Abdulova (Teakwondo); StepanidaArtahinova/Alexander Zubar (Archery).
The World IWAS Games are being staged in Sochi from the 26th of September till the 3rd of October’2015.  There are more than 800 athletes from 34 countries competing in the said events.
