On March 27, Deputy Director of the Program Implementation Department of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Vice President of the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments, 3-time Paralympic champion in para athletics Olga Semenova in the Tula Region in the Children's Republic Polenovo camp took part in the ceremony the opening of the XXIX All-Russian Chess and Drafts Competition for children with musculoskeletal disorders "The Scarlet Flower".
The competition will last until April 2. They are attended by representatives of 12 regions of Russia: Arkhangelsk, Penza, Samara, Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen regions, Altai, Krasnodar and Perm regions, the Republics of Mordovia and Bashkortostan and Moscow.
In addition to chess and checkers, the sports program included boccia and darts.
The "Scarlet Flower" competition has been held since 1991 and has become the first step for many disabled athletes to conquer sports peaks.
