Official meeting of Russian Paralympic Committee’s governing body and national ice sledge-hockey team was held in the executive board’s conference hall of Paralympic Home, before the commence of 2015 IPC Ice Sledge-Hockey World Championships
It starts on 26th of April and will be finished by May 3, 2015. President of Russian Paralympic Committee, Vladimir Lukin, opened the meeting with some greetings words to national ice sledge-hockey team’s members.
«I would like to say that for the Russian Federation ice sledge-hockey is a completely new kind of sport, which have been practicing at a national level for nearly 6 years and since then our team have gone its hard way from the rookie of the sport to the second place medalists of the Paralympic Games 2014 in Sochi. By achieving such a splendid results I can’t but express my warmest thanks to all the staff members of national team, to our athletes, specialists responsible for athletes’ great performance and as well as to all governing bodies in charge of sport development in the regions of the Russian Federation, where ice sledge-hockey is given much more attention in order to ensure its development and progress. 2015 IPC Ice Sledge-Hockey World Championships will be a real examination for our team. Such a kind of events are always held in a great competitiveness and extreme battle, especially it concerns matches between Russian, USA and Canadian national teams.
The chief of working group of preparation for 2018 Paralympic Games in Korea, Pavel Rozhkov, underlined that a progressive development of ice sledge-hockey in Russia for the last 7 years period is a result of joint cooperation between Mininstry for sport of the Russian Federation, Russian Paralympic Committee and Megafon Company who is general partner of national ice sledge hockey team.
Head coach Sergey Samoylov informed about current conditions of the team, main steps of preparation for 2015 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships.
Russian captain Dmitry Lisov on behalf of the team thanked for such big attention paid to the sport and presented souvenirs.
