From 9 to 11 February, 2017 the Paralympic Sport Hall in Moscow is expected to host the participants of National Championships in Para-Armsport.
More than 100 athletes from 21 Russian regions (3 more that last year) are competing for the medals of the Championships.
Head coach of Russian National Para-Armsport Team Alexander Filimonov:
We are expecting to organize three major events in 2017. Russian Championships, World and European Championships. European Championships will take place from 14 to 21 May in Budapest, Hungary, the best world armsport athletes will gather in Katowice, Poland from 2 to 11 September. Selection of the athletes for International competitions will be done according to the results of national competitions. We will try to participate in every event at the international competitions. Last year aroung 80 persons participate in World Championchips – 60 athletes, 20 staff.
The main rivals for us on international level are athletes from Turkey, Kazakhstan and Georgia.
Preparation for international competitions athletes will hold at their home regions. It is enough for good performance. We are looking forward good results from our leading regions Perm Region, Republic of Dagestan and Republic of Tatarstan.
