IWAS World Games opened in Sharjah, UAE.

Mr. Pavel Rozhkov, Chairman of the RPC Governing Board, RPC 1st Vice-President, IWAS Vice-President, took part at the Opening Ceremony of the 2019 IWAS World Games in Sharjah, UAE.

2019 IWAS World Games are hosted in Sharjah, UAE. More than 500 athletes from 50 nations are competing in 7 sports: archery, athletics, badminton, wheelchair fencing, shooting, swimming and table tennis.

Russia is represented by 20 athletes in wheelchair fencing.

International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation (IWAS) is a member of International Paralympic Committee, founder of Paralympic Movement and Paralympic Games. The Federation has been developing sport for disabled in over 60 countries for over 60 years. The IWAS head-quarters is situated in Aylsbury, Great Britain. IWAS President – Rudy Van den Abbeele (France), Vice-Presidents: Tariq Almansouri (UAE), Pavel Rozhkov (Russia).

In 2015, IWAS World Games for the first time were held in Russian city of Sochi. Near 800 para athletes from 34 countries competed in the competitions. The competitions saw 213 medal events in 6 sport: para athletics, para swimming, para archery, para table tennis, para taekwondo and para armsport.
