INFORMATION on participation of Russian athletes at the XII Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in (Republic of Korea)
the XII Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games (Republic of Korea) (hereinafter – Games-2018) were held in the period from 9 to 18 March 2018.
80 sets of medals in the following disciplines were played on Games-2018:
· Alpine skiing – 30
· Cross-country skiing – 20
· Biathlon – 18
· Snowboard – 10
· Wheelchair Curling – 1
· Para Ice Hockey – 1
The Russian athletes at the XII Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games (Republic of Korea) as neutral participants took 2nd place in the unofficial overall teams’ standings, winning 8 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze medals (total 24) in biathlon, cross-country skiing and alpine skiing.
The largest number of medals from Russian athletes at the XII Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games won Ekaterina Rumyantseva: three gold (biathlon: 6km, 10km; cross country skiing 15km, among standing women) and two silver medals.
Two-times champions become:
- Mikhalina Lysova and guide-athlete Alexey Ivanov (biathlon: sprint, 12.5km, among women with visual impairments), who also won three silver and one bronze medals in biathlon and cross-country skiing;
- Anna Milenina (cross-country skiing: sprint, biathlon: 12 km, among standing women), who also won two silver medals in biathlon and one silver medal in cross-country skiing.
Alexey Bugaev won gold (Alpine skiing: super combination, among standing men) and silver (alpine skiing: giant slalom, among standing men) medals at XII Paralympic Games 2018 in Pyeongchang.
Zainullina Marta became the silver and two-times bronze medalist of the Games (biathlon: 10km, cross-country skiing: sprint among sitting women).
Redkozubov Valeriy and guide-athlete Evgeniy Geroev won two bronze medals at the Games 2018 (alpine skiing: super combination and slalom among men with visual impairment).
The bronze medalist also became Irina Gulyaeva (biathlon 10 km among standing women).
