ARTHUR CHUPROV WON GOLD MEDAL ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE PARA CANOE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN DENMARK

From 16 to 19 September in Copenhagen (Denmark) the world championship in canoe sprint and paracanoe took place.

On the first day of the paracanoe competition, preliminary races were held among athletes of all categories, as well as the winners in paracanoe in the "VL1" classes among men and women and VL3 - among women.

Krasnodar sportsman Artur Chuprov covered the distance in 1 minute 04.80 seconds and won the "gold" of the championship.

The second place with a score of 1: 15.69 was taken by the Chilean athlete Robinson Mendez. In third place is the representative of Italy Alessio Bedin - 1: 16.40.

In the VL3 class, the representative of the Krasnodar Territory Larisa Volik finished with the 4th result - 1: 02.15.

The first and second places were taken by representatives of Great Britain Charlotte Henshaw (59.33) and Hope Gordon (1: 00.69). Bronze medal for Natalia Lagutenko from Ukraine (1: 02.09).

On September 17, the winners of the canoe races in the VL 2 class for men and women, as well as in the VL3 for men will be determined.

In VL2 Igor Korobeinikov from Moscow and Maria Nikiforova (Volgograd region - St. Petersburg) will take part in the final race.

Maxim Popov (Volgograd region) and Egor Firsov (Moscow region - St. Petersburg) will take part in the semifinal races in VL3 to qualify for the final, which will also take place today.
