The Press Conference of the Russia Paralympic Committee (the RPC) following the RPC Governing Board meeting - postponed to 19:00 (7:00 pm).
Due to delay of the flight of the major Conference participant – the Head of the RPC Working Group for preparation for the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in Korea, the first RPC Vice President, the Chairman of the Governing Board Pavel Rozkhov, the Press Conference has been moved to 19:00.
On January 31, 2018 at the Head Quarters of the Russian Paralympic Committee in Moscow, Pavel Rozkhov met with the leading official of the RPC in order to discuss forthcoming actions, aimed at preparation of the Russian Paralympic athletes at the Winter Paralympic Games 2018 as neutral athletes.
The meeting participants discussed a number of issues related to organizational, financial, technical and methodological aspects as well as procedures of accreditation and equipment of athletes and athletes support staff and personnel, list of delegations and many others. On February 1, 2018, the RPC Governing Board will meet to discuss the outcome of the previous meeting. As the follow up, on February 13, 2018 the preliminary accreditation process of the delegation list will be reviewed. As well as other important issues related to the meeting of the Russian delegation at Seoul, transfer and accommodations at the Paralympic Village would be discussed. It is important to point out that the International Paralympic Committee (the IPC) established a special Commission, responsible for approval of the list of the RPC official delegation at forthcoming 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in Korea. The Commission consist of Xavier Gonzalez (the IPC CEO), Mike Peters (the IPC Chief of Staff), Peter Van de Vliet ( the IPC Medical and Scientific Director and Chelsey Gotell (the IPC Athletes Council Chair).
Simultaneously, the IPC announced that the representatives of the Russian mass media who were not able to get their accreditation for Games 2018, could sent their requests via the Russia Paralympic Committee.
