7 RPC ATHLETES WILL TAKE PART IN WORLD PARA SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

In Italy, in Lonato del Garda, from September 24 to September 26, the world para shooting championship among athletes with physical impairments will take place.

77 athletes from 19 countries of the world applied for participation in the competition.

The RPC team included 7 athletes: Alexey Pasternak (Chelyabinsk Region), Roman Ponomarenko (Stavropol Territory), Alexander Sakharnov (Republic of Tatarstan), Andrey Petrunin (Penza Region), Yuri Rudnev (Kaluga Region), Viktor Kuchuryan (Moscow Region) and Andrey Stolyarov (Chelyabinsk region).

The World Championship was originally scheduled for September 2020, but has been postponed to current dates due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In Lonato 2021, 6 sets of medals will be played in individual and team competitions in all three classes.

PT1 - Designed for SG-S shooters competing in a wheelchair in a standard sitting position. The individual competition PT1 will be attended by 30 athletes from 15 teams, and the team competition will be four teams.

PT2 is intended for athletes with lower limb impairments competing from a standing position (class SG-L). A total of 25 athletes from 12 countries will take part in the PT2 competition. Five countries will take part in the team competition.

PT3 - designed for athletes with a non-shooting hand injury (class SG-U). The individual competition will be attended by 22 athletes from 11 countries, also participating in standing competitions. Three countries will participate in the team competition.

As a demonstration competition of mixed teams in paratrap will take place, the results of which will not be taken into account in the medal standings of the championship.
