11 RUSSIAN ATHLETES WILL TAKE PART IN THE EUROPEAN PARACANOE CHAMPIONSHIP IN POLAND

The European Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe Championships will take place in the Polish city of Poznan from June 3 to June 6.

The Russian national paracanoe team included 11 athletes: Nadezhda Andreeva (St. Petersburg-Rostov region), Larisa Volik (Krasnodar region), Alexandra Dupik (Moscow region), Maria Nikiforova (Volgograd region - St. Petersburg ), Leonid Krylov (Moscow - Saint Petersburg), Roman Serebryakov (Nizhny Novgorod region - Saint Petersburg), Egor Firsov (Moscow region - Saint Petersburg), Igor Korobeinikov (Moscow), Artyom Voronkov (Nizhny Novgorod Region - Ryazan Region), Maxim Popov (Volgograd Region) and Artur Chuprov (Krasnodar Region).

Arhile Mavrofidi, senior coach of the Russian National Para Canoe Team of the sport for persons with PI:

“The upcoming European Championship will be the final international start for the Russian national team before the 16th Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo. The final selection for the Russian national team for the Paralympic Games will be held following the results of the Russian Championship, which will be held in Moscow at the end of June.

In rowing and canoeing, the classification for the Paralympic Games has already been completed. In total, the Russian national team won 7 quotas for participation in the Games out of 9 possible. "
